A few seconds into 2009, with Auld Lang Syne going strong, I’m sure I was far from alone in wondering just how “Happy” this New Year would be for many people.
2008 was one intense year. We already know that 2009 will be much tougher, but there’s more than enough gloom in the media and blogs without me adding to it. The times call for positive thinking, so I’ll kick-off my first post of 2009 with a happy event at SitePosition.
A new site for the New Year. Early last year, renovating our own online house had become an urgent need. The Web has changed dramatically since our last major re-build, and our previous site was aging and starting to creak.
So, over the past eight months, working around tight client schedules, our team pulled many a long after-hours session and threw in a few weekends to completely rethink, redesign and rebuild siteposition.ca from the ground up.
Our new site launched a day or two before Christmas, with the focus entirely on enabling our clients to “get more for less” from their existing marketing budgets. We want to help make your online dollar “work smarter”, and our solutions are all geared to maximizing the performance of your existing online assets—extracting the full ROI potential from what you already have.
Getting more from less IS achievable—including for sites and campaigns that performed acceptably during good times. The economy is forcing a hard, penny-wise scrutiny, and it’s surprising to see how many actively engaged online marketers have been overpaying and/or under-utilizing their existing programs.
Now marketing budgets are being tightened, and you are still expected to deliver the same online performance. You can’t control what’s happening out there... so, what can you do?
Control what you CAN control. Optimize what you already own, and control the quality of your Web traffic and your on-site conversion rate. The solutions are relatively low cost, swiftly implemented, ROI focused, and the gains are sustainable when the market recovers.
(We’ve introduced online ROI calculators [still in Beta], to help you gauge the impact online ROI enhancement efforts can deliver for your online performance.)
In weeks to come, our in-house experts will outline some of the online strategies, web technologies, and other recession fighting tools and tactics we’re using to help our clients navigate the downturn minefield. I hope you’ll find the posts informative and useful.
On behalf of everyone at SitePosition, I hope you enjoy our newly renovated home. If we can offer further advice, or more information on any of our services and solutions, please get in touch. We’re here to help.
Happy New Year!
